STORY

Beans from a plantation loved the world over.
The Republic of Madagascar lies in the Indian Ocean, off the east coast of Africa. It is renowned as a source of high-quality cacao beans—90% of which come from the Akesson plantation. At green, we use these very beans—prized by chocolate makers across the globe—and have focused intensely on our production methods to bring out unique, distinct flavors.

Highlighting a distinctive acidity
To preserve the unique fruity notes, the beans are roasted slowly at a low temperature. While embracing the intensity of the acidity as a defining characteristic, we employ an extended conching process to ensure a more approachable flavor profile. The chocolate is then carefully temperature-controlled and left to age. This meticulous craftsmanship results in a chocolate with an irresistible, fermentation-like alcoholic nuance and vibrant fruitiness. Topped with cacao nibs, this bar offers an even more direct experience of this harmonious blend of aromas.
